Family Physician and Primary Care Training
With the help of the Asia Pacific Rim Development Program at UNMC and scholarships from the China Scholarship Council, Chinese MD physicians can participate in the family medicine training in China and the Family Medicine Leadership Course at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. UNMC’s Primary Care program is currently ranked 6th in the United States.
UNMC has established family medicine training centers in the Chinese cities of Shanghai and Xi’an. Here Chinese universities have improved local family medicine by developing curriculum that will educate Chinese adapted family medicine practitioners. In addition, Chinese physicians are able to train for two weeks at UNMC in the Annual Family Medicine Leadership Course.
UNMC also hosts Family Medicine Symposiums held every year in both Shanghai and Xi’an. Throughout the past six years, thousands of Chinese practitioners have been trained during these symposiums.
